In 1986, Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts joined the London Institute, a college organisation established by the Inner London Education Authority to bring together London's art, design, fashion, and media schools. In 1989, the college was renamed Camberwell College of Arts. Camberwell briefly lost its Fine Art courses during this restructure, but the department was completely returned to the College by the time the London Institute was awarded University status and renamed University of the Arts London in 2004. Camberwell College of Arts is currently a well-known art and design college that allows students to express themselves freely. It has two locations, one on Peckham Road and the other on Wilson Road, in Camberwell, South London, England.
Camberwell College of Arts provides postgraduate and PhD degrees, as well as further and higher education programmes. Within Fine Art, the College has kept single-degree choices, with specialised Bachelor of Arts programmes in painting, sculpture, photography, and drawing. Graduate and postgraduate studies in art conservation and fine art, as well as design courses such as graphic design, illustration, and 3D design, are available at the College.
