Places of interest: Okhla Bird Sanctuary
Noida has a lot of beautiful destinations and landscapes to visit. Okhla Bird Sanctuary is a haven for over 300 bird species, some of which are migratory birds. It is also known for its fascinating large lake between Okhla village to the west and Gautam Budh Nagar to the east, created after building a dam across the river. The sanctuary is situated at the entrance of Noida, Gautam Budh Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh.
If you are a nature enthusiast, Noida's Botanical Garden is another fascinating destination there with a vast space of lush green gardens and around 7500 special and endangered plants and flowers. It has primitive plants called Psilotum Nudum, which means “Bare Naked” in Latin because it lacks the organs that most plant species have. The garden is divided into 10 sections; one of which is the “Medicinal Plants” section. Other sections include the fruit section with mango, lemon, pomegranate, and much more, and the woodland section with many impressive trees. The garden is a good place to spend some time with your flatmates to relax and get some exercise in the mornings or the evenings.
Since Noida is a well-planned city, it has excellent road connectivity. There are three main expressways in the city: DND Flyway, Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, and Yamuna Expressway. One of the most important transport links is the metro. Delhi Metro connects Noida to a lot of other places, such as New Delhi. Dwarka sub city, Barakhambha Road, Rajendra Place, Rajouri Garden and Uttam Nagar. Their tickets could be cards or tokens and their prices vary according to the distance from 10 rupees to 60 rupees.
