When is rent due?
Rent is due between the 1st and 10th of each month.


Is there a late payment fee?
Yes. A late fee of $75 may be imposed for rent not paid by the 10th of the month.


Will I receive a rent invoice or bill?
No, no bill will be issued. Residents are responsible for making payments directly at the Residence Office.


What payment methods are accepted?
Accepted payment methods include:

  • Bank check

Personal checks and third-party checks are not accepted.


Can the rent amount change?
Yes, rent is subject to change, and residents will be notified in writing of any changes.


Is a security deposit required?
Residents on a monthly rent schedule must pay a security deposit upon admission unless payment for the entire stay is paid in full.


When will the security deposit be returned?
The security deposit will be retained until after departure. If all terms and conditions of the agreement are fulfilled at the end of the residency, the security deposit will be returned.


Under what circumstances can part or all of the security deposit be kept?
All or part of the security deposit may be retained if the resident fails to comply with any terms and conditions of the agreement, including but not limited to:

  • Leaving the room in poor condition

  • Failing to provide proper notice of intent to leave by completing the Departure Notification Form

  • Violating other terms and conditions of the agreement

Can the security deposit be used for unpaid rent or charges?
Yes. During the residency period, if rent is not paid on time, the security deposit may be applied toward unpaid rent and overdue late charges.

When must I complete a departure form?
A departure form must be completed prior to your departure date if you are leaving on your originally scheduled departure date.


What if I want to move out earlier than my scheduled departure date?
If you need to move out earlier than your originally scheduled departure date, you must provide a minimum of 30 days’ advance written notice by completing a departure form.


What happens if I provide less than 30 days’ notice?
If you provide less than 30 days’ advance notice, your security deposit will be charged to meet the 30-day notice requirement.


What happens if I leave without providing advance notice?
If you leave without advance notice, your security deposit will be forfeited in its entirety.


Are there special rules for fall semester bookings?
Yes. From September 1 through December 31, bookings are for the entire fall semester.


What happens if I leave before December 31 during the fall semester?
If you depart prior to December 31, you will be required to pay rent through December 31 in accordance with your signed contract.


Where can I obtain a departure form?
Departure forms are available from the Residence Office or through the residence portal.
